It’s hard to believe that we have been going down to El Salvador since 2015 … that is something to celebrate! Something else to celebrate … this year Shelter built its 5000th house!! That means that more than 20,000 people in El Salvador now have a safe place to call home!
Through Shelter, we have had the incredibly humbling experience of meeting hundreds of families and hearing their stories. Stories of hardship, sacrifice, faith and hope. Stories that have not only touched our lives personally, but have both challenged and encouraged our faith and personal pursuits through the words they have shared. We go thinking we are bringing something to them, but we receive so much more in return. The houses built, forever change the lives of the families who receive them, but they make an impact on our lives as well!
God calls us to be HIS hands and feet. Never have we felt this in a more practical way, than when we are serving alongside the families and our Shelter friends. We are so thankful for the hundreds of people that God has brought together over the years, to show HIS love to so many Salvadoran families. Each of these families has seen first hand God’s love in a tangible way, expressed through so many generous donors like yourselves, Shelter team members, and the Salvadoran staff. Thank you for being part of an incredible community that is building hope together!
