Darlene Hope Mowat passed away peacefully on July 13, at the age of 64, as a result of a tragic accident.

Darlene loved God and devoted her life to being the hands and feet of Jesus. She had a huge heart for homeless, marginalized grieving and just any person that was in need. She opened her home to many people over the years and was a mentor to many young women finding their way in life.

Darlene had a special place in her heart for El Salvador. She was part of the shelter team in 2018 and so enjoyed helping build but more so just being part of the community and being with kids and teaching them about God. She and her husband Fraser used their business to raise funds for Shelter through an event called the Great Grape Stomp. That was always the highlight of the year and through it many people who would not have otherwise heard of shelter learned about this great work in El Salvador.

She will be truly missed.
