Juana works at the El Pedregal Factory, where she has been making clothing for 12 years. In this home, she only pays for water and electricity, as the property has been loaned to her. She will be living with her 9-year-old son, Joshua. At one point, she was able to borrow a house for a while, with the help of her father.
One of the main challenges she faces is the presence of animals such as snakes and scorpions, as the land she was given is near a sugarcane field. Additionally, the rainy season creates difficulties, as water leaks into the house, keeping the dirt floor constantly damp. The house is made entirely of metal sheets and is very small.
