José works in the sugarcane fields, adding fertilizer, sows and irrigates the fields, but when the harvest season comes, he starts cutting sugar cane to load the trucks by hand as well. When the harvest season comes they get paid by “tasks” a measurement of 10 square meters, they receive $8 per task. His wife Wendy Yamileth Joya Escobar (27 years old) is the beneficiary of the house, but she was not at home at the moment of the interview.
The condition of the house where they live is terrible, the laminate sheets are old and all the water gets inside of the house when it rains.
“We feel deeply grateful for helping us with a new house”.
