Juan has been a day laborer since he was very young. Currently, he farms to provide for his family, but right now he hasn’t been able to plant due to his health and poor eyesight. He is the only one working for his family, and during the winter, his house suffers a lot of damage.

His favorite subject is science, and he would like to work after finishing school to help his family. He would like to become an electrical engineer. He also really enjoys playing soccer.
Yaritza Maricarmen Iraheta
12 years old / 5th grader / Ana’s granddaughter
Yaritza is a good student who wants to be a lawyer once she grows up, in her free time she watches videos on her phone.
Ana Paula takes care of her grandchildren because their mother is not with them. She is worried about her house, as it is already in poor condition. It was built 15 years ago, and the roof has many leaks. The wind tears off the roof sheets and the walls during winter, and the walls of her house are cracked.
