Maria works and has three children with her husband. She works three times a week outside the home, washing clothes to be able to buy food for her family and ensure her children can study. Her husband also helps by selling crabs.

In the rainy season, they suffer because their house is about to collapse; part of the roof caved in and fell on her husband. However, her children are very happy about their new little house and even say they will help their mom with sweeping and mopping.
